David Walker has been appointed as the new chief financial officer (CFO) at British Land.
He will start in his new role and join the board as an executive director from 20 November, replacing Bhavesh Mistry, who is stepping down from the role.
Walker joined British Land in 2017 and has served as chief operating officer and an executive committee member since 2021.
He previously served as head of investor relations and as also interim CFO at British Land from November 2020 to July 2021.
As well as his time at British Land, Walker qualified as a chartered accountant at PwC, before spending over seven years in various roles within the corporate finance division at Deutsche Bank.
After this, he worked for over a decade in investor relations, strategy, finance and corporate development roles within UK listed businesses.
Chief executive officer at British Land, Simon Carter, said: "I am delighted Walker will be joining the board as CFO. He has delivered significant value and efficiencies as our chief operating officer and is ideally placed to bring his experience to again lead our expert finance team as we capitalise on the strong momentum in the business.”
