Ripon Group welcomes new CFO

Chris Northway has been appointed as chief financial officer (CFO) at Ripon Group.

He joins the agricultural machinery and ground care firm after an 18-year career, in which he held a number of senior roles in capital-intensive, stock-heavy, multi-site organisations.

Northway joins from Barrett Steel, where he served as director of financial control.

In his new role, he will lead Ripon Group’s finance function, playing a role in financial planning, strategic decision-making and building financial models to inform growth plans and business performance.

Ripon Group, which is based in North Yorkshire, boasts £160m in turnover and manages brands including John Deere, Kuhn, Baily and Kramer.

Chief executive officer at Ripon Group, Richard Simpson, said Northway was the stand out choice from a "strong shortlist" of candidates.

He concluded: "His experience in complex, multi-location businesses, combined with his technical expertise and commercial acumen, makes him a superb addition to our leadership team, and I’m excited to be working closely with him to advance our growth and transformation plans."
