Kromek announces new CFO

Kromek has announced that Claire Burgess has been appointed as its new chief financial officer (CFO).

She will replace Paul Farquhar, who is resigning from the role at the firm, which develops radiation and bio-detection technology for the advanced imaging and CBRN detection segments.

Burgess has spent over 12 years in senior financial positions at businesses in the UK and US, primarily in the engineering and technology sectors.

She most recently served as financial director at Advanced Electric Machines Group, and has also served as CFO at JD Processing and TBGS Holdings.

Burgess is a qualified fellow chartered accountant, having started a career as an auditor at Ernst & Young before joining KPMG as a corporate finance executive.

Chairman at Kromek, Rakesh Sharma OBE, said: "On behalf of the board, I would like to thank Farquhar for his contribution to Kromek. The business is in a fundamentally stronger position than when he joined, and we wish him all the best for his retirement.

"I would also like to welcome Burgess to Kromek and to the board. Her experience with growing technology and engineering-based companies with international operations is well-suited to the Kromek of today. We look forward to benefiting from her expertise as we continue to execute on our strategy."
