Digitalbox has appointed Richard Spilsbury as its new chief finance officer (CFO) and company secretary.
He will join the digital media business, which owns websites including Entertainment Daily, The Daily Mash, The Tab and TV Guide, on 1 January 2025, and the firm said that he is set to join the board on the same date.
Spilsbury will replace David Joseph, who tendered his resignation in October.
Joseph will leave the company and the board on 31 December, but will remain on hand until 31 March 2025 to ensure an "orderly handover".
Spilsbury joins Digitalbox from Link Stone Advisory, where he is currently serving as founder and chief executive officer (CEO).
He has also worked as finance director and group corporate development director at Future plc.
Before this, he was corporate development director at Play Sports Group, where he was focused on sports digital video and marketing, before the firm was acquired by Discovery Inc in 2019.
CEO at Digitalbox, James Carter, said: "Spilsbury brings a wealth of experience to the business, and will help us from both a financial perspective and also contribute to our thinking around strategy. We are looking forward to working with him."
