Boku appoints Rob Whittick as CFO

Rob Whittick has been appointed as chief financial officer (CFO) at provider of global mobile payments solutions, Boku.

Whittick, who is a chartered accountant, joins the firm having spent over 25 years at Natwest Group.

In this time, he held a number of senior roles, including finance director for commercial and private banking from 2014 to 2019, accounting for £5.7bn in annual revenues in 2019.

Most recently, he served as group chief of staff and as a member of the group executive committee, reporting to the chief executive officer (CEO).

Boku, founded in 2008 in London, has offices across the world in countries including the US, China, France and India, provides a network of mobile-first payments, including mobile wallets, direct carrier billing and account-to-account payment schemes, reaching over 7.5 billion mobile payment accounts through a single integration.

Customers use Boku to simplify sign-up, acquire new paying users and prevent fraud, with clients including Amazon, Google, Netflix and Microsoft.
