Vodafone announces CFO designate

Vodafone has appointed Pilar López as its chief financial officer (CFO) designate, who will take up the role from 1 October 2025.

López will succeed Luka Mucic who has decided to leave Vodafone.

Following her appointment, López will begin a two-month period of handover from Mucic, with her formal appointment as CFO and executive director to the Vodafone board to commence on 1 December, following Mucic’s departure from Vodafone on 30 November.

López will join Vodafone from Microsoft, where she has served for 10 years in a range of senior leadership roles. Prior to Microsoft, she spent 16 years with Telefónica in several finance and senior leadership positions.

Commenting on her appointment, López said: “I’m thrilled to be joining Vodafone at such an important time in the group’s transformation. I am excited to work with Margherita and the team as Vodafone continues to improve the service to its customers, further simplify operations across the Group, and deliver sustainable growth in free cash flow.”

Vodafone CEO, Margherita Della Valle, added: “I am delighted that Pilar will be joining Vodafone in October. She has deep-rooted knowledge of both the telecoms and technology sectors, across a range of international leadership positions. Following a significant period of change at Vodafone, Pilar is joining us as we continue to drive operational excellence across the group.”
