Meagen Burnett appointed Schroders CFO

Schroders has confirmed that Meagen Burnett will be appointed the group’s new chief financial officer (CFO).

Burnett will succeed Richard Oldfield, who was named chief executive of the asset management firm earlier this month.

Burnett joined Schroders in January 2023 and is the group’s current chief operating officer (COO). As CFO, she will take direct responsibility for financial management, capital, and treasury, with oversight of operations and technology.

With more than 25 years’ experience in financial services, including 15 years in asset management, Burnett has held various operational, audit, risk and IT control roles within M&G, J.P. Morgan, Goldman Sachs and KPMG.

The incoming Schroders chief executive, Oldfield, will begin the role on 8 November. Burnett will act as interim CFO from 8 November, until her formal appointment on 1 January 2025.

Oldfield said: “In the year that I have worked with Meagen, I’ve seen firsthand the incredible rigour she has brought to her role as group COO. I know she will do the same in shaping our commercial decision-making and drive efficiencies in our business processes, leveraging our investment in technology.”
