Dotdigital appoints new CFO

Software provider Dotdigital Group has appointed Tom Mullan as its new chief financial officer (CFO).

He will succeed Alistair Gurney who had indicated his intention to step down from his role to pursue a new business opportunity.

Mullan will be co-opted to the board on 30 April 2025, at which point Gurney will step down from the board.

With experience in the software sector and as a public company CFO, Mullan’s previous roles include six years at Gresham Technologies, a software and services company that specialises in providing solutions for data integrity and control.

He has also held senior finance roles at several international software businesses, including Fadata Group, a private equity-backed insurance software provider, and Guidewire Software, where he led EMEA finance and operations.

“Dotdigital is one of the most exciting businesses in the UK tech space, with a strong product, a scalable business model, and a growing global presence,” Mullan said. “Its long-term growth potential is clear and the opportunity to help shape that journey was a major draw for me.”

CEO at Dotdigital, Milan Patel, added: “With a strong track record working across high-growth software companies and an excellent reputation as a PLC CFO, Tom is an ideal fit for Dotdigital.

“I am confident that his strategic insight, financial and operational acumen, and extensive experience in driving organic growth, leading international expansion, and executing M&A will be invaluable as we continue to pursue our long-term growth ambitions.”
