Airtel Africa announces change of CFO

Airtel Africa has announced that its chief financial officer (CFO), Jaideep Paul, is to retire from his position.

Paul informed the company’s board that he will step away from the role after the group’s AGM in July, to pursue a new position within the wider Bharti Group.

Airtel Africa, a UK-based company that provides telecommunications and mobile money services in 14 African countries, also confirmed that Paul would ensure a smooth transition to current deputy CFO, Kamal Dua, who will assume the role of CFO on a permanent basis.

Chair of the Airtel Africa board, Sunil Bharti Mittal, said: “In his time at Airtel, both at Airtel Africa and before that at Airtel Nigeria and Bharti Airtel Group, Jaideep has been instrumental in driving strategic change and delivering results via skilled execution, and has brought discipline and focus to the finance function.

“He has been an inspirational colleague and on behalf of the board I wish him well for the future. I’m pleased that we have identified a strong successor and look forward to working with Kamal as the business develops.”
