YouGov has seen its revenue increase by 34% year-on-year in the six months to 31 January 2025, reaching £191.7m.
In this period, the research and data analytics group also recorded a 7% jump in its adjusted operating profit to £30.1m.
However, its profit before tax dropped by 21% to £24.1m, while its earning per share fell by 18% to 17.1 pence.
In this period, EMEA was the best performing region for YouGov, with its revenue in the region increasing by 97% year-on-year. In the UK, revenue fell by 1% to £32.9m.
The update comes as the firm announced the initiation of a "cost optimisation plan to right-size the cost base" for the current financial year, following a "disappointing performance" in 2024.
YouGov has introduced measures including a headcount reduction, a lowering of the amount spent with third parties and a scaling back of underutilised offices, with the aim of delivering over £20m in annualised cost savings, "of which 70% is expected to be realised" in the current financial year.
Chief executive officer at YouGov, Stephan Shakespeare, said: "YouGov has delivered a resilient performance in the first half of FY25, having undergone considerable change over the past 18 months. While we have faced execution challenges, I am confident that our strategic growth plan is the right one to deliver on our ambition to become the universal infrastructure for data sharing.
"The board strongly believes that it has the right building blocks to achieve that long-term ambition and the hard work has only just begun. YouGov has a unique asset in its engaged panels and strong brand recognition, a combination which we believe cannot be commoditised. These competitive advantages are essential to building a rich and connected dataset, efficiently and on a large scale.
"Looking ahead, we will be accelerating execution in the areas we see as having the greatest potential. With the right leadership and strategic direction, the board is confident that YouGov will be able to return to historical levels of growth and success."
