Howdens announces new CFO

Howdens has announced that Jackie Callaway has been appointed as its new chief financial officer (CFO).

She will join the kitchen and joinery products retailer from Coats Group, where she has served as CFO since 2021, having also previously worked as CFO at Devro.

Callaway is also a non-executive director at FTSE 100-listed specialist engineering company, IMI.

The appointment follows the announcement that the firm’s current CFO, Paul Hayes, is to step down from the role and as executive director of the company from 30 May 2025.

He has served in the role since December 2020. In this time, he has overseen the delivery of strong cash generation by the firm, as well as its appointment to the FTSE 100.

Chief executive officer at Howdens, Andrew Livingston, said: "Callaway has a strong track record in leading finance teams of large UK listed companies with global operations. Her expertise will be invaluable to the board and our executive Leadership team as we continue to capitalise on the significant growth opportunities we have, both in our UK markets and through the development of our international operations.

"On behalf of the board, I would like to thank Hayes for his significant contribution to Howdens over the last four years. We wish him well in his retirement."
