CRH appoints interim CFO

CRH has appointed Alan Connolly has its interim chief financial (CFO), effective from 1 January 2025.

The appointment comes after current CFO, Jim Mintern, was announced as the firm’s chief executive officer (CEO) in September.

Connolly, who is a chartered accountant, will take over three decades of finance experience to the role, having held several senior finance roles across CRH’s European and Americas businesses.

He has also worked as director of strategic finance and previously served as finance and performance director of European materials at the firm.

Prior to joining CRH, a provider of building materials solutions, he was an auditor at KPMG.

In a statement, Mintern said: "Connolly brings extensive and relevant expertise to the interim CFO role and is deeply familiar with CRH’s business and financials.

"As our director of strategic finance, Connolly and I have worked closely together on key finance initiatives, and I look forward to continuing to partner with him to execute on our strategy and drive value for our shareholders. We are grateful that he is stepping into this interim role while we conduct a search to identify a permanent CFO."
